Loopcut

Blender MCP

A Blender MCP server for cloud render and AI tools.

Loopcut's MCP server lets Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or any agent running Blender render on an RTX 4090, find free assets, and make images, 3D models, character motion, voice lines and sound effects. It doesn't control your open Blender window, so it works next to the MCP servers that do.

/plugin install loopcut --marketplace loopcut-ai/loopcut

Which one

Three different jobs.

Blender MCP servers don't all do the same thing. Pick by what you need the agent to do, or use more than one.

Edit the scene in your open Blender

MCP for Blender or the Blender Lab MCP server

The model runs Python in the Blender you have open and looks at the viewport. The Blender Lab server is the one behind Claude's Blender connector.

Render and generate from your agent

Loopcut MCP server

The agent renders a saved .blend on an RTX 4090, finds free assets, and makes images, 3D models, character motion, voice lines and sound effects. No Blender window needed, so it works for headless agents and CI.

More

An agent inside Blender itself

The Loopcut app

A Blender build with the agent built in. It reads the scene and shows the Python before it runs, inside the Blender you work in.

From each project's public docs, checked 22 October 2026. MCP for Blender is the open-source add-on by Siddharth Ahuja; the Blender Lab MCP server is built by the Blender developers and used by Claude's Blender connector. Both run code in your open scene, so save your work first. They change often: if a row is out of date, tell us.

Together

Edit with one, render with Loopcut.

The two kinds don't overlap, so an agent can use both in one job.

01

Build the scene

Your agent edits the open scene through MCP for Blender or the Blender Lab server, or writes it as a script for headless Blender.

02

Save the .blend

The Loopcut connector renders the saved file, packed by your Blender. Only new files upload.

03

Render in the cloud

Quotes are free, and a quote is the most the job can cost. The frames come back with a QA report that flags the ones to look at.

04

Bring the rest in

Images, 3D models, motion, voice lines and sound effects come back as files the agent imports the same way.

The tools

One sign-in, one credit balance.

Every paid tool quotes before it runs. Asset search is free.

Cloud render

$0.05 per GPU-minute

Cycles or EEVEE on an RTX 4090, Blender 5.2. Up to 2,000 frames a job.

Image

$0.06 standard, $0.20 HD

6 or 20 credits an image, for references and concepts. Editing an image costs the same.

Image to 3D model

$0.80 a model

80 credits; a quick draft is 25.

Cloud remesh

From $0.05 a mesh

5–60 credits depending on the mesh; you approve the most it can cost first. Free on your own machine.

Voice line

$0.10 per minute

10 credits a minute of speech, rounded up per line, 1 credit minimum.

Sound effect

$0.04 a take

4 credits up to 6 seconds, then 1 per extra 2 seconds.

Motion from video

$0.03 per second

3 credits a second of video, rounded up, 2-second minimum, up to 60 seconds a clip, captured with NVIDIA GEM-X. Putting the motion on your rig happens in Blender, free.

Motion from text

$0.02 per second

2 credits a second of motion, 2–10 seconds a clip, one free redo. NVIDIA Kimodo. Built with Meta Llama 3.

Asset search

Free

Search free-licence libraries and your own.

What comes back

Cloud render: 360 frames of dominoes in EEVEE.
Picture to 3D: a textured model with quads, from a generated picture.
Motion from video: a dance clip captured as body animation.

Questions

What is a Blender MCP server?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) lets an AI app or coding agent call tools. A Blender MCP server gives it tools for Blender. MCP for Blender (formerly Blender MCP) and the Blender Lab MCP server behind Claude's Blender connector control the Blender you have open. Loopcut's MCP server gives the agent cloud tools: render, asset search, images, 3D models, motion and audio.
Does the Loopcut MCP server control my open Blender?
No. It packs the saved .blend with your Blender, running headless, and renders it in the cloud. To edit the open scene, use MCP for Blender or the Blender Lab server alongside it, or the Loopcut app, which has its own agent inside Blender.
Can my agent render without the Blender interface?
Yes. The connector only needs a Blender install to pack the scene, and runs it headless. From CI, create an API key on your account page, set LOOPCUT_API_KEY, and run the CLI with a credit ceiling: a job starts only if its quote is under it.
Which apps and agents does it work with?
Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, VS Code and Claude Desktop run it on your computer with uvx loopcut mcp. The Claude and ChatGPT apps connect to the hosted server at https://loopcut.org/mcp and sign in with a Loopcut account.
What does it cost?
Installing it is free. Cloud jobs are paid with Loopcut credits (1 credit = $0.01), quoted before they run. A render costs $0.05 per GPU-minute on an RTX 4090, with a one-minute minimum, and the free plan adds 100 credits every month.
Is it open source?
Yes. The connector is GPL-3.0-or-later, and its source is on GitHub with a Claude Code plugin and an agent skill.
