## Platforms

| Platform | Requirements | Size | Download |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| macOS | Apple Silicon (M1 and later) · .dmg | 383 MB | [https://loopcut.org/download/mac](https://loopcut.org/download/mac) |
| Windows | 64-bit · .msi installer | 368 MB | [https://loopcut.org/download/windows](https://loopcut.org/download/windows) |
| Windows portable | 64-bit · .zip, no installer | 413 MB | [https://loopcut.org/download/windows-zip](https://loopcut.org/download/windows-zip) |

Intel Macs are not supported yet.

## Code signing

The Windows installer is signed, and Windows shows the publisher as Samuel Price. The Mac build isn’t signed yet, so macOS asks you to confirm the first launch.

## First launch

macOS and Windows look for a developer signature before they open an app from the internet. Loopcut’s Windows installer carries one; the Mac app doesn’t yet, so macOS can’t tell who published it and asks you to decide. That’s all the warning means; it isn’t a problem found in the file. Windows can still ask once while our new signature builds a reputation.

### macOS (15 Sequoia and later)

1. Open the .dmg, drag Loopcut into Applications, then open Loopcut from Applications.
2. macOS says Apple could not verify “Loopcut” is free of malware. Click **Done**.
3. Open **System Settings › Privacy & Security** and scroll down to Security. Next to “Loopcut” was blocked, click **Open Anyway**. The button stays for about an hour after you tried to open the app.
4. Confirm with **Open Anyway** and your login password or Touch ID. Loopcut opens, and from then on it opens like any other app.

Right-click › Open no longer skips this check since macOS 15. On macOS 14 or earlier, Control-click Loopcut in Applications, choose Open, then Open again. If macOS says Loopcut “is damaged and can’t be opened”, that is the missing signature too: check the checksum below, then run `xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Loopcut.app` in Terminal and open it again.

### Windows (10 and 11)

1. If your browser says the file isn’t commonly downloaded, keep it. In Edge: the download’s **⋯** menu, **Keep**, then **Show more › Keep anyway**.
2. Open the installer. If “Windows protected your PC” appears, click **More info**.
3. Check the app is `loopcut-v0.2.21-windows64.msi` and the publisher reads Samuel Price, then click **Run anyway**.
4. Click **Yes** when Windows asks to let it make changes. Loopcut installs, and from then on it opens like any other app.

The installer, the portable .zip and every program and library in them are signed by Samuel Price, which is what Smart App Control (Windows Security › App & browser control) looks for before it runs an app it doesn’t know yet.

## Verify the download

GitHub records a SHA-256 checksum for every file attached to a release. Run the command for your system on your copy; the result should match character for character.

| File | Size | SHA-256 |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `loopcut-v0.2.21-arm64.dmg` (macOS installer) | 383 MB | `8d2f2c78a1835bf2fa96d03579cc60630e8ece8c2631e180e5f37412b872cdcf` |
| `loopcut-v0.2.21-windows64.msi` (Windows installer) | 368 MB | `a610828709dd45fdfb790276a1225233446d79bc8da0ddb4406840d3ff125c7c` |
| `loopcut-v0.2.21-windows64.zip` (Windows portable) | 413 MB | `368c39eaf92ad3c44a4d5fc4284a02ada3e03523e205b4d3042f3e888c5346a0` |

macOS, in Terminal:

```sh
shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/loopcut-v0.2.21-arm64.dmg
```

Windows, in PowerShell:

```powershell
Get-FileHash $HOME\Downloads\loopcut-v0.2.21-windows64.msi -Algorithm SHA256
```

PowerShell prints the hash in capitals. Case doesn’t matter.

## After the download: three steps to the first turn

Loopcut is a full Blender build, so it lives next to your stock Blender and never touches its settings.

What the free account and paid plans include is on the [pricing page](https://loopcut.org/pricing). Only need cloud renders from a coding agent? You don’t need the app: [render from Claude Code, Codex or Cursor](https://loopcut.org/render).

1. **Install and open.** Loopcut is Blender with the agent built in. Import your existing Blender settings on first launch, or start fresh.
2. **Connect.** The setup asks you to create a free Loopcut account first: it holds your asset search and 100 free credits a month. Then click Sign in with ChatGPT so the agent runs on your Plus or Pro plan, or paste your own API key, or point it at a local model.
3. **Ask for the boring part.** Open a scene, press ⌘L (Ctrl+Alt+L on Windows), and describe the job. Read the code and approve it. Every turn that changes the scene is a checkpoint. Undo all restores the scene and the conversation to before it.
